Love Magazine. SS16. Spring. Edition 15. 2016.
Looking at magazines for some inspiration for my images. The wet look, sported by Kendall Jenner in Love Magazine is such a common style used constantly by designers, muas and photographers but each time, images come out looking flawless. I have loved this style of image for a while now, ideally I would love to create images of my own taken from the influence and inspirations of others however, having brief restrictions make choosing certain aspects and elements difficult. The wet look could be used for my catwalk images, it is just trying to fit this style in and making sure it works well with my brand. The red images, called 'Hell Raiser' in a Love Magazine editorial project is also one of my favourites from the latest edition. The photographer, Solve Sundsbo, has used Gel Lighting within the images and what looks like a dark red or possibly black backdrop. The collections of images are in a style, mainly from a photography point, that I have wanted to do for sometime. I have recently been shown how to use gel lighting to it would be great to use these skills for my images. A possible connection between these images and the images Charlotte Tilbury release are the red backdrop, this could be reworked within my images for the Editorial story, which majority of the time is more creative, which could give a new more improved brand image for CT. These images could also reference my story, the darkness of the images could show the downfall of my story and the rise of my story, interpreted by power for the rise and hell for the fall.
Stylist Magazine. Special Edition. Spring Summer 2016. Issue 305.
The first and second images from Stylist Mag, one from Estée Lauder and the other from Nars. The appearance of the ads are very different. The nars one is very girlie and playful and clean, while the Estée Lauder ad is more dark, grown up and oozes seduction.
The next three images are from an editorial spread by Lyndsey Alexander, Estée Lauder Make Up Ambassador. The story is putting Spring 16 make up trends into 'Focus' hence the magnifying glass. This is a super clever way to create a focal area of an image without settling for less else where.
Stylist Magazine. January 2016. Issue 302.
Stylist Magazine. Issue 313. 13 April 16.
I have placed these two images together to show my like and dislike for certain styles of advertisement. I don't particularly like the Rimmel Adverts, I find the busy layout annoying and I don't really think all the information is necessary, However, the Dior adverts, and majority of luxury brand adverts are my personal favourite. I feel these tend to be more elegant and clean which mirrors the luxury feel the brands have. I will definitely be using a more clean style for my adverts.
I've inlcuded this even though its not really linked to SS16 Make Up or fashion trends, I just love the background of the image with the flowers and tints of pinks! I think flowers would be a good addition to some of my images!
Different types of Editorials. One being fashion and the other being products.
