Catwalk Hair and Make Up Trial

My catwalk hair is an important part of my overall look. After struggling last year with the technical side of hairstyling I was delighted that beach waves were apart of our practical lessons. The look, which seems like a pretty effortless hair style, is completely misleading. The preparation behind the style is critical to how the look turns out. Sea salt spray, mouse and dry shampoo were my go to products for my practical lesson and my trial run. I then used hair straighteners and used an up down motion to create the wave. I then used more moose to scrunch the hair up and backcombed the top crown section of my models hair to get more volume. The hair in the images below, on my model Georgina is the hair I will be creating for both my timed assessment and catwalk images. These were taken as a trial/practice run to see how it looked and also how long it would take me. I have also included pictures of a practice I had on my own hair, which is incredibly difficult to style, this also turned out great although there was not enough volume.

The next image, of my hair and make up I like, I feel my hair is flat, but this was the first attempt at beach waves after my technical lesson. The make up is OK, I don't think I would like my eyes to be as defined as they are in the picture as I want a more soft look.
