Ideas so far

I am now steadily progressing my research into Charlotte Tilbury. My research has lead me to research photographers, models and stylists behind the Tilbury brand which has allowed me to understand the style of the images the brand creates. After researching into the products and previous trend work Charlotte has created I have been able to start the foundation of my idea for my editorial, catwalk and advertisement images.

For my advertisement images, I am creating a day and night look to advertise Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution Lipstick line. The idea behind my design will be based on a quote I came across, 'Give a girl the right lipstick and she can conquer the world'. This has enabled me to come up with an idea of using a lipstick colour to determine whether a look is day or night.
For my day look, my model will be minimal yet glamorous, which references part of my brands DNA. The skin will be sculpted, flawless and clean with defined eyes and a nude lip.
For my night look. the previous description will be the same, the model will have sculpted, flawless and clean skin with defined eyes and a statement colour lip, both red and purples are popular on the catwalks for SS 16 so I need to decide which of the colours I prefer, this will be done during my trials. The overall idea for this campaign is that you can wear the same make up to work, for a coffee or a day of shopping with a nude lip and instantly change the dynamic and feel to your appearance by altering the lip colour, which the final look could be used for a red carpet, date night or a night out with friends.

For my editorial images, which is based on a trend or story, my idea is to again, reference the statement of lips during the SS16 catwalk shows. The lips are always the first part of a make up look on the catwalk I recognise. Make Up Designers such as Pat McGrath, my brands owner, Charlotte Tilbury and Valgarland all use the lips to create focus. My idea was to create two images, the one being of a strong, independent and, beautiful woman holding her favourite lipstick, this lipstick gives her the power and determination to be the Ultimate Woman. The second image will be of my model, holding her broken lipstick, all smudged in her hands. She will appear distraught, damaged and broken. "The Story of a beautiful Woman'

For my catwalk images, I am yet to finalise any ideas for this. As Charlotte Tilbury freelances for brands and catwalk shows, she does not specifically sponsor or work alongside a luxury fashion brand. This makes my design process more difficult as I have to now find brands Charlotte has previously done make up for or link my brand to another SS16 trend show. I initially thought of Tom Ford but as this brand is included within the list of brands we can use for the products, I decided against this. I am now looking at brands such as Anna Sui, Balmain, Versace and DKNY for inspiration.
