Hair ideas:
For my advertisement, the day and night look will advertise a lipstick product and how simply changing the colour can change the whole look. The images below, from Charlotte's website, are completely different from each other, the hair, the make up and the image background. My idea is to maintain the same hair style to keep the concentration on the make up. Majority of Charlotte's images for her brand contain some sort of voluptuous, glamorous curl. My first idea is to create the hair for my day look as an up do, much like the small, textured up do's for Philip Lim, I would want to create something which incorporates curls or waves and as the image alters from day to night, my models hair then becomes undone from the up do, into a glamorous style. (Mood board one and two)
For my editorial, the story is based upon a woman who is powerful, because of a lipstick. As lipsticks have been a staple and hugely talked about make up item during this years SS16 trends, I thought creating another set of images with a focal point on the lips would be great. The hair for this has left me unsure, the style of images I want to create are more avant garde or high fashion, which is something Charlotte does sometimes in her own personal work. The hair for the first image, which will be base upon the woman at her time of being powerful will have the same sort of hair as my advertisement night image, quite large voluptuous curls, possibly Hollywood waves (See mood board three). My second image for editorial will show the downfall of my model. She has snapped her lipstick and it has dramatically effected her life. This image, I hope will be more avant garde than the first, although it must relate and mirror the first image. My idea for the hair is for it to be a larger, more crazier curl, similar to the images I have
created on the fourth mood board below. Although I want to create something more avant garde, I must be careful to maintain my brands image style in some recognisable way. I am also trying to reference ss16 trends with my hair styles,
Catwalk- My designs for both hair and make up are struggling for the catwalk style images. As Charlotte Tilbury has no clothing line, its very difficult to match a current SS16 trend to the brand. My research is taking me to make the step of choosing a separate brand, possibly one that Charlotte has worked with in the past, as her work for her brand and others are similar due to her style of work, and use this as as inspiration for my catwalk images. I plan to make my catwalk images in a way that makes Charlotte Tilbury brand part of the team behind the looks so it is crucial to source a trend that fits this well. I have been reading up on Charlotte's blog, which is featured on CharlotteTilbury.com and she has several posts on Fashion Week SS16. She has documented the designers she worked for such as Rachel Zoe, Philosophy, Etpo and Albepta Feppeti. As you can see with the images below, less is more. The models have barely any eye make up on, nude lips and flawless skin and the hair is very basic with low sleek ponytails, kinked or natural looking hair and messy updo.
