Fast forward: A/W 2016 Trends


Alexander McQueen. Dressing like the actual night sky is now a thing. In fact we’d say it’s AW16’s prettiest party trend. A galaxy of stars, moons and planet symbols embellished eveningwear across the board – our favourite incarnation being Alexander McQueen’s otherworldly dresses, smattered with glittering constellations. Magical. 


Michael Kors.Burberry, Michael Kors, Mary Katrantzou and are giving us the most decadent textile offerings of all - brocades so shimmering and structured that they look like actual hammered metals. Folks, AW16 is the season to shine.

Using elastic underneath the models cheekbones, the make-up artist Val Garland created a distorted, fuller look. The hair was equally as interesting with the hair stylist Malcolm Edwards creating a horned finish using two twisted ponytails.

Carine Roitfeld was the inspiration for the hair and make-up at Julien Macdonald. While the hair stylist Syd Hayes used mousse and a diffuser to achieve the loose, airy waves, the make-up artist Val Garland patiently created a velvety-matte, cat's eye with a mixture of kohl shadow, liquid liner and silver and gold pigment. "The Julien Macdonald woman is cool-looking, elegant and polished," added Hayes.
